This is a simple concept, put a great bar, on a beach, let people party until the morning then provide towels so they can go swimming. Not tricky right? If you find your self in HK this summer get yourself down to Paradiso, you wont be disappointed. Oh and say hi to the owner, Kenneth.

country drinking
Tuesday, August 28th, 2007winehands new favourite country pub is the Saracen’s Head.
situated by the River Wye at Symonds Yat in the Forest of Dean, this picturesque, award winning pub is the perfect place to soak up the last rays of summer.
it was such a nice day when team winehands hit town, that we had to cool off in the river.

WH hot tip – try the stowford press cider – refresco!

buzzing brighton
Monday, August 20th, 2007following our recent l2b cycle ride, the winehands crew decided to embark on another flight of fancy to ‘London-on-Sea’. this time however, we wanted to avoid sore backsides (from the bike saddles, ya know?), so got the train down on saturday night.
we started off at the Sky Bar, a slick, funky joint set back from the sea-front.
later we ended up at Honey Club, a vibrant 5-room club packed with Brighton’s effortlessly cool. the judge showed up, and we learnt a new way to imbibe jager.

best of all, there was no need to pay for a hotel, as the clubbing train departs brighton at 03.50am for a return to the capital. all aboard…

Wir trinken Bier gern
Wednesday, September 6th, 2006It’s been a while since we updated you with our social calendar. We apologies greatly, I know how much you love seeing us “at our best” in random photos across the world. Anyway, this past Saturday we headed down to the Bavarian Beer House in Shoreditch, London. Lots of German beer, lots of sausages, lots of German songs and a fair bit of table dancing.
Great night, great venue…. check it out.

Kenny G it is not
Friday, July 21st, 2006Report – fantastic night, fantastic music, stuff you literally can’t not dance and smile to. Top work Ros. I would provide photos but my camera phone is up the sh1tter, apologies. If you did miss out, I reccomend this album to get you into the swing of things:

Tonight see’s the final set of Ros Atkins @ Sharp @ Nambucca Holloway Road. Ros and others will be playing a mix of soca, calypso, dancehall and house music with all money taken on the door going to the Akany Avoko childrens centre in Madagascar. Tickets are £5 and doors open at 8.
Winehands members will be there of course to wave goodbye to Ros, try and pop down and do the same – we’ll be the ones with beers taped to our hands…..

sweden stuffed (sort of)
Wednesday, June 21st, 2006it may not have been pretty, and we still cant beat those pesky swedes, but england topped the group and will now face ecuador in the next round.
winehands core personnel watched the game at The Bedford in south london last night (http://www.thebedford.co.uk/).
We showed the passion and support brought back from our German adventure to wake the pub from it’s gentle slumber and get behind the boys.
pop down on sunday if you fancy a piece of the action, and tape, at the ecuador game.

new york, new york
Saturday, June 3rd, 2006So good, they had to name it twice. We love new york down at wh-HQ. It rocks, it really fcuking rocks. So i’ve been there all week on biz, and despite this being the 4th trip in under two years, I just want more. it’s the nuts. A few highlights:
Peter Luger – best steak in new york, full stop, let us know if you’d like to know the text book order (trust us)
Label – Laura Whitcomb is creating some fashion items here that will really make you stand out from the crowd, subtly, of course
Adriano’s Pizza – work downtown, eat upscale, grab a “pizza pie” at this place and you’ll wonder how Pizza Hut ever made a dime
Milk and Honey NY – the sister bar in London is one of our favourites, the one in New York is so cool most locals don’t even believe it exists. John Travolta has been banned for being a pr1ck, not in my house son shine
Atrium – need denim? there’s only one place to go, these guys really know what they are doing
Cafe Wha – is there any thing better than live music? This place re-writes the book on live music, the house band is off the hook, you’ll get everything from the Beatles to Method Man. And that’s just in the warm up…. people dancing in the isles 7 days a week
Tens Cabaret Club : 641 W 51st St – while the cat’s away the mice will must play?
Any ways, over and out as I wait for my two three hour delayed flight back to LHR. At least the Admirals lounge has beer. Spk soon

bar of the moment
Thursday, June 1st, 2006We love bars, you love bars, in fact I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love bars. So when a new one comes along, we all get excited. Step up to the plate, Lost Society in Clapham, London. This place is rocking right now, as a converted two-storey 16th century barn it is already on a one way train to cool. Anyway, get your self down their, pronto. oh and don’t miss out on the “secret garden”….. summer is here you know?
